Colour generated from the nano-pores developed on the surface of light metals.
recent Cirrus developments
Cirrus’s unique ability to generate colour from the nano-pores developed on the surface of a range of light metals has elevated interest across various industries.
Paint processes tend to be energy intensive (baking processes, thermal oxidation), GHG intensive (drying and natural gas oxidiser-use) and environmental emission problem areas. Auto paint shops have often seen fires, and exceedances of paint particulate emissions limits, resulting in fines from regulators.
An ambient temperature plated colour solution, applied in an automated closed-loop plating system, removes these air-borne emissions. The nano-structure created by Cirrus Hybrid™ technology is closely tuned to the wavelength of light, generating an accurate and consistent colour match.
